Like I mentioned, Santa brought us Chicken Pox and YES, it is Buddy who has it. I had a slew of people asking if it was me and thankfully I had it when I was in kindergarten and Husband had it when he was 12 or 13.
FYI-
Even though your child gets the chicken pox vaccine they can still get chicken pox!!! It will not be as severe and will be very mild but they can still get it. Don't be fooled!!
Buddy had the first vaccine at his 15 month check up and was due for his booster shot at his 4yr check up this coming March.
You would never know he has chicken pox though. He rarely scratches and doesn't complain a bit. Completely unphased by it. I'm so glad. :o) He only has bumps on his chest and stomach arms and legs and just today started to get some on his face but in total he only has 25 bumps or less. The vaccine really does help keep it mild. AND another tip my doctor told us. Its not a good idea to take them in right away on day 1 or 2 for a diagnosis as Chicken Pox rash takes a few days to fully form and really tell you if its chicken pox or not. they start out as little red pimples then turn into small blisters and then ooze and scab over. The doctor knew right away it was chicken pox because Noah had bumps at all those stages spread through out his body. I have a picture on my phone of Buddy's chicken pox rash that I will try to add. I don't know if it will work though. ** it wont let me add the picture** lame..
Yay us! We have chicken pox. ;o(
Our Biltmore trip was AMAZING! I will do a post later with pictures!!
I was so upset I packed my camera bag and carried that thing around only to find out I could only take pictures outside the house. So for an hour and a half climbing up and down stairs I had my 15lb camera bag on my back for nothing! I got some great shots outside in the garden and of the exterior of the house though so it sorta makes up for none inside the house.
Just being with my boys on vacation was amazing! We all slept in a king size bed and it was so sweet to wake up to both of their happy faces in the morning. Everything at the hotel was "so cool" to Buddy and he was actually pretty blown away that the bathroom had a phone inside it and so did the pool area. He also absolutely insisted we utilize the Safe in our room to keep Mr. Giraffe secure while we were not in the room. He was so worried he would get stolen! Poor guy loves that crusty Giraffe so much!! I'm pretty sure he will be packing him to college!
We also went to the winery at Biltmore and did some wine tasting! Oh I was in HEAVEN and Hubby actually wine tasted with me (he isn't a wine drinker). I fell completely in love with 2 of their wines and Hubby let me buy a bottle of both! Everyone working there complimented us on how well behaved Buddy was during wine tasting and Buddy was talking up the lady serving our wine. He spelled his name for her and she was so impressed he could do that! The wine server loved him and got him crackers and grape juice for him to enjoy while we wine tasted. :o) It was a really great time!
Biltmore House at night was just BEAUTIFUL! I wish I could have just sat in the foyer watching the choir and band play and just take in that Christmas spirit all night! Every room was so meticulously decorated for the holiday and it was just BEAUTIFUL! Giant fireplaces and Christmas trees in every room and lights out the wazoo were just amazing to Buddy. He really liked all the Christmas trees. When we go back next year I think we will just do the Christmas Candle light tour instead of the day tour. The day tour had all the decor but nothing was lit up and there was no music at all. It was really boring for Buddy. It really made a huge difference at night with everything lit up and live music. So amazing!!!
Now that I only have a quarter of my bottle of Merlot left I am on the search for Biltmore wines!! I hear the shoppette on Main base has Biltmore wines so I will have to check it out!
Hope you all had a great holiday too!!
